ELIGIBILITY

Check out the eligibility requirements below to
make sure you're ready to attend VicJam.
Eligibility is subject to change.
Scout
-
Must be a registered member of the Scout section of Scouts Victoria on the opening day of VicJam, December 29 2021, through until at least January 8 2022
-
Aim to meet the requirements for either:
-
Program Essentials Milestone 1, as well as Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 3 in Bushcraft, Bushwalking, and Camping; OR
-
the Pioneer Badge
-

Aim to complete 10 nights camping in the outdoors with the Unit or Patrol, as a Scout. Four of those nights must be consecutive. Cuboree 2021 nights can be counted.

If circumstances have prevented you meeting either (or both) badge work & camping requirements, the backing of your Scout Leader and Unit Council is sufficient.

Have approval from the Unit Council
-
Have consent from their parents/guardian
-
Not have had their 15th birthday before January 3 2022 or have special permission from VicJam. Apply at enquiries@vicjam.com.au
Rover
-
Must be a current Rover Scout in Scouts Victoria on the opening day of VicJam, December 2021, through until at least
January 8 2022
-
Be 18 years of age before the opening day of the Jamboree (i.e. 18 on December 29 2021)

Hold a Victorian Working With Children Check (with proof of this on their Extranet record).

Have completed either the:
-
Program Essentials Introduction to Section for Rover Scouts, as well as Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 3 in each of Bushcraft, Bushwalking, and Camping; OR
-
Squire Training badge
-
-
Have completed compulsory eLearning modules (BCORE – Child Safe & WHS)
-
Be recommended by their Unit Council as being of excellent character, a good role model to younger Youth Members, and have the skills and abilities to undertake the activity (or other tasks) nominated on the application form
-
Be capable of handling the physical requirements of the event.
Venturer
-
Must be a registered Venturer Scout in Scouts Victoria on the opening day of VicJam, December 29 2021, through until at least January 8 2022
-
If a Venturer turns 18 during the Jamboree, they must provide proof they hold a Victorian Working With Children Check before VicJam.

Have completed either the:

Program Essentials Introduction to Section for Venturer Scouts, as well as Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 3 in each of Bushcraft, Bushwalking, and Camping; OR
-
Venturer Skills Award
-

Be recommended by the Unit Council as being of excellent character, a good role model to Scouts, and have the skills and abilities to undertake the activity (or other tasks) nominated on the application form
-
Have consent of their parents/guardian
-
18 year old Venturers must have approval from their GL and Unit Council.
Leader
-
Must be a registered member of Scouts Victoria on the opening day of VicJam, December 2021, through till January 8 2022
-
Hold a Victorian Working With Children Check (with proof of this on their Extranet record).

Hold a Certificate of Adult Appointment as at September 30 2021 and through until at least January 8 2022
-
Have completed compulsory e-Learning modules (BCORE – Child Safe & WHS)

Be recommended by their line manager
-
Be capable of handling the physical requirements of the event.
Other Adult
-
Must be a registered member of Scouts Victoria on the opening day of VicJam, December 2021, through till January 8 2022

Hold a Victorian Working With Children Check (with proof of this on their Extranet record).

Hold a Certificate of Adult Membership as at September 30 2021 and through until at least January 8 2022
-
Have completed compulsory e-Learning modules (BCORE – Child Safe & WHS)

Be recommended by their line manager

Be capable of handling the physical requirements of the event.
